Finally! My work permit came through by DHL on Monday.
Things are now in full swing till I go. I have a long list of things to do, and I am trying to get through all of them asap so I can just relax for a bit before I head off!
My ticket is booked for 5 May, which is not all that far away, but gives me enough time (i hope).

wow, I must say I admire your bravery to go out into the big wide world and away from Zim. Its one thing to go to SA and another to go half way across the world. All I can say is Well Done buddy!! Thinking of you and wishing you the very best of luck!!!
